What happens if a tournament coincides with a scheduled practice day?

The vast majority of our teams—over 92%—practice on weekends. When a tournament coincides with a scheduled practice day, the tournament itself counts as a team training session for that week. Tournaments are a critical part of your team’s growth and development, so participating in them fulfills the training requirements for that week.

Why Don’t We Add Extra Team Practices?

Our practice schedule is carefully designed to balance the availability of families, coaches, and gym time. The day and time your team practices are selected as the best possible option for everyone involved.

If practice were scheduled on a different day, we likely wouldn’t have been able to field this team due to conflicts with players’ or coaches’ availability. Coordinating gym space, coach schedules, and family commitments is a complex process. Because of this, additional practice sessions may not always be possible when a tournament replaces a practice session.

Looking for Extra Reps?

While extra team practices may not always be feasible, we encourage players to take advantage of opportunities to join an open gym or another team’s practice as a guest! This is a great way to get some extra reps and continue working on your skills.

If you’d like to join another team’s practice as a guest, email us at info@socalvbc.com to schedule a time. We’re excited to help you grow and improve!
